Eco hotel, Birmingham, UK

MSc Studio project, 2012

An environmentally and socially sustainable hotel features edible landscape in an urban park that also supplements fruits to the local restaurants.  The design is driven by the circulation in front of the Central Library enabling the park at lower level and ambulatory space at the upper level. The hotel accommodates 150 guests and is passively ventilated and heated.

Urban regeneration, Sheffield, UK

MSc group studio project, 2012

Neepsend is an industrial area in Sheffield that is derelict despite having a ski village, industrial, residential and sites of special scientific interest. The two phase project was a group work involving architects, engineers and landscape architects.The first phase involved revatalising the entire site.  The second phase of the project focused n the design of a transport hub that has renovated the existing railway line and added a bus route, cycle stations and a car park.

High-rise tower, Chennai, India

Studio 9, 2008

The high rise building is a 40 storey  tower located in the special economic zone in Chennai. The tower accommodates residential, commercial, office spaces and recreational spaces. The design incorporates sky gardens at various levels to encourage greenery and social spaces in the tower. A wide selection of materials such as Low-E glass provides adequate insulation against solar gain.

Portland Works, Sheffield, UK

MSc Studio project, 2011

Portland works is a redundant industrial building that was re-occupied by a group of under paid artists, musicians, knife makers etc. The artists' studio was sustainably retofit to improve thermal performance, lighting and acoustics using passive and active strategies whilst respecting the heritage value of the property.  An overall strategy and face lift was proposed to improve the characteristic of the site.

Campus of fundamental research, Hyderabad, India

Undergraduate thesis, 2009

The Tata Institute of Fundamental research is a premier organisation for advanced research in India. The concept of design was to create an ambiance which promotes cutting-edge research through appropriate zoning of spaces. A modular arrangement of spaces with individual and shared green zones was created.

2004-2013

An assortment  of my smaller works which includes free hand sketches using various media and physical and 3d models from a range of softwares.  Apart from these, I have also worked with interactive visualisations combining physical and digital interfaces, an interactive and educational gaming portal, mapping of urban energy data to create variegated maps and animations.
